We're two veterans, and we'll retire your worn American flag the right way, for free. We pick it up, fold it with honor, and carry it to a local American Legion or VFW post for a proper retirement ceremony.
When an American flag gets worn, faded, or torn, the U.S. Flag Code says it should be retired with dignity. Not stuffed in a trash can. Most people just don't know how to do that, and they don't want to get it wrong.
We get it. We're Tony and Miguel, and we run JunkFit Hauling out of Glendora. We're also both U.S. military veterans. Tony served in the Navy aboard the USS Boxer out of San Diego, and between the two of us we've spent years around that flag. We were taught early what it stands for and how to handle it. Folding one the right way isn't a chore to us. It's second nature.
So we made it easy for our neighbors. Hand us your old flag and we'll take care of the rest, free. No charge, no catch, and no sales pitch waiting on the other end.
There's a real difference between a hauler who offers to "get rid of" your flag and a veteran who will retire it.
We've stood at attention for that flag. We've watched it folded into a tight triangle at ceremonies that meant something to the people standing there. So we know it isn't just a piece of fabric, and we treat it that way.
That's why we'd never toss a flag in with the junk, and why we'd never burn one in a backyard for a quick video. Every flag we pick up gets folded with care and carried to a local Legion or VFW post, where fellow veterans retire it the proper way.
For us this is personal. We served under that flag, and people we know gave far more than we did while standing behind it. Retiring a worn one the right way is the least we can do. Honestly, we're glad to be the ones who get to.

We collect your worn flag and give it the proper veteran fold. The traditional triangle, done with respect.
We deliver your flag to a local American Legion or VFW post, where it is retired in an official ceremony.
There's a lot of confusion about how to dispose of an American flag. Here's what actually matters, and the one mistake to avoid.
Traditionally, a flag that's no longer fit to fly is retired by burning. But in a formal ceremony, run by a group like the American Legion or VFW. The ceremony is the whole point. It's done with specific honors, by people trained for it. Not casually, and not in your backyard.
Most flags made today are nylon or polyester. Burn one and it gives off toxic fumes and drips melted plastic, so doing it yourself is genuinely unsafe. California's air-quality rules and fire-season restrictions also make open burning illegal in a lot of places for much of the year.
That's the whole reason we hand every flag to an established Legion or VFW post. They run real retirement ceremonies, the legal and proper way, and you don't have to think about any of it.
Every flag we collect goes to a local American Legion or VFW post right here in the San Gabriel Valley, retired in an official ceremony close to the community it flew over.
Working with our local veterans' posts keeps the whole thing honorable and accountable. Your flag gets retired by fellow veterans, the right way, close to home. It doesn't get shipped off or quietly thrown out. If you'd like, we'll tell you when and where it'll be retired so you can be there.
Common questions about our free American flag pickup and retirement service.
It's free. We're veterans, and this is how we give back. No charge, no catch, just one less thing for you to worry about.
No. We fold each flag with honor and hand it to a local American Legion or VFW post that runs official retirement ceremonies. Most flags today are nylon or polyester, which give off toxic fumes when burned, and California's air-quality and fire rules make backyard burning unsafe and often illegal. Letting an established post handle the ceremony is the proper way to retire Old Glory.
